August 24, 1980. Two blasts from a .357 magnum pistol shattered the peacful silince of Hoskins Hollow tucked against the east side of Cumberland Plateau in East Tennessee.

William "Harlan" Hoskins lay dead in the mud of his front yeard. a lite rain fell on the piece of roofing tin that covered his body. Only one of the bullets found its mark, entering his back and passing completely through his body. He was sifty-four years old.

The front door of his falling down old farm-house, where he lived with his brother, Jim was shattered and splintered by the ofrce of a powerful, single kick. Whoever killed Harlan Hoskins knew what they were looking for. His surviving brother reported five hundered thousand dollars in cash, stolen from their ransacked home.

After many years of fear, uncertainty, frustration and living under suspicion himself, Jim Hoskins was convinced he would never receive the answers and closure he deserved concerning the cold-blooded murder of his beloved brother.

The inability of law enforcement to solve the crime and the knowledge that police corruption was a roadblock to the truth was taking a toll on the victim's survior.

Eventually, the removal of the crooked sheriff from office as a result of an undercover F.B.I. investigation, led Lieutenant Anthony Callo to the assignment as lead investigator in four "cold Case" murder investigations. After meeting with success in the first two cases, he was determined to learn the truth about the Murder in Hoskins Hollow.
